Who doesn't love gift cards? It used to be that giving a gift card was considered impersonal. Now that you can get a gift card for just about anywhere, I really don't think that's the case anymore. I love gift cards, and I'm pretty sure that anyone that I've ever given one to does too. I have a little collection of gift cards actually. Every now and then I like to organize this collection by throwing away cards that no longer have a balance on them, and remind myself of the places that I can shop for free at. As I examined my gift card stash I came across a $10 gift card that (sadly) I can't use. There are no Stop & Shop Grocery Stores in the my new state of North Carolina. There are no Giant Food Stores, Martin Food Markets, or
Peapod Grocery Delivery either. So I decided to give this gift card away to one of my fabulous readers, as a way to celebrate getting to 100 Google Followers! (It can be used at any of the stores I just mentioned.) If you don't have one close by, feel free to enter to win for a friend or family member who does. ReplyDeleteI like gift cards. They're not impersonal, because you can pick a place that the receiver really likes and show your knowledge of them that way. Everyone loves getting them instead of a gift they may or may not use, and no one likes wasting money on a gift that'll be relegated to the basement or regifted. As a woman, I have to admit I like spending them, too, because the shopping adds to the fun, and I can get whatever I want or need!

I love gift cards, the only issue I have with them is when you get the "restaurant ones" at Christmas from family members you don't see very often. It becomes the gift card swap. I give you a gift card, you give me a gift card. I just would rather we both save our money. :)

I like to give gift cards..especially to my grown "kids" and their spouses. I usually buy a gift, but also give a gift card so they can choose something special for themselves. I like to receive them, but sometimes forget about them when I tuck them into my wallet...or else I use them on someone else! Would love one from Stop & Shop...I'd buy myself some fresh flowers!
