After reading lots of sewing blogs, and some encouragement from those around me about how simple it is to actually learn to sew, I bit the bullet and bought a machine and some practice fabric.
Within a couple of hours I had threaded and loaded my first bobbin, threaded a needle, traced, cut, and pinned a baby bib pattern, and made this:
It is not perfect, by any means. My stitches are not evenly spaced along the edge, I couldn't figure out how to finish it off, and I had a little trouble around the corners.
But I did it. All by myself. I'm so excited for what this brings. I have since added a snap and decided to gift my first official sewing project to my sweet new nephew Alex. (Whom I'll be meeting for the first time in just 1 more day!!!)
Got an easy pattern for me to work on? Email it to me and I'll feature you on my blog after I make it! (you'll be famous!) And I mean like really, really, easy. I'm just a beginner you know.
