Amazed

Joey totally amazes me lately. I find myself just staring at him wondering where my baby has gone and how this little person suddenly emerged. He talks so much, understands everything, and knows exactly what he wants when he wants it. I am seriously awestruck by the new things he is doing every single day.

Snack Attack

I know all moms think their kids are smart, but he really is smart. At a mere 19 months old, Joey went into the pantry, located the snack he wanted, pulled the bag out of the box, and proceeded to search the bag of Lucky Charms for the marshmallows, while tossing the cereal part on the floor for the dog. If that's not a sign of pure genius, I don't know what is.

This Momma Makes BIG Babies

I went for my monthly ultrasound today. I honestly have no idea how they see anything in there, it just looks like a black and white mess to me. But anyway, the babies are growing nice and big. Baby A is 3lbs 6oz, and Baby B is 4lbs 1oz! She's quite a little fatty apparently. Some unfortunate news is that they have both flipped and are now in the breech position. I was really hoping to avoid a c-section, but if they don't get their acts together I'll have to have one. The important thing is that they are healthy and big, so who really cares how they come out???

Lalalala, Lalalala, Elmo's World...

My house is being taken over by that furry red puppet. Joey has taken a liking to Elmo above all else. Well, Melmo is his name according to Joey. If the TV is on, it's got to be Melmo. If it's not, he just whines and points and eventually yells that it should be. No more Wiggles, Barney, Blue's Clues, or variety whatsoever. Just Melmo. The problem is that we only have 1 Elmo DVD at the moment. (another has been ordered online and should arrive in 3-5 days) Joey definitely doesn't mind watching the same 45 minute segment of Elmo over and over and over. But I am starting to mind. And we don't yet have Elmo for the car, which made Joey very sad on the way to breakfast this morning. Lots of pointing at the screen and Melmo requests all the way there (and all the way home!) Poor little guy just doesn't understand that TVs are capable of broadcasting other characters or shows. According to Joey it should be all Melmo, all the time.

Card from Nana

Joey got his very own Christmas Card yesterday from Nana. And he found the fact that she was talking to him to be very cool. He played with it for such a long time. He was even saying hi back to her and having a conversation with the card. So cute... (and it was fun all over again today!)
